BBoops World Opens Shop in the Historic Paddock Arcade

Watertown couple opens a handcrafted retail shop in historic building.

In Feb 2006 Tonya and Bill Lockhart were able to make their dreams a reality by expanding bboopsworld.com into a store front within the Historic Paddock Arcade. "I have always loved the Arcade and it was sad to see all the shops leave. The Arcade and downtown Watertown are being revitalized; we are very excited to be part of it", said Lockhart. As a past military family the Lockhart's love being part of a growing trend in the Watertown area which has afforded military families to create new businesses and live the American Dream.

BBoops World store in the arcade offers country wood and paper crafts, signs, silhouettes, door harps, home and holiday decorations, address labels, and note cards. In addition to the Lockhart's creations they also offer consignment crafts and gifts by other area artisans. The shop includes a small studio where the Lockharts work on custom handpainted signs and country decor items.

The craft side of their business officially began in 2001 when they were added to our web site: BBoops WOrldalong with exhibiting at local and area craft shows. Lockhart said, "The most rewarding part of our business is that our handcrafts are made by us in the USA. We were able to take something we love doing and turn it into a business."

The Lockhart's get inspiration from everyday things around them. The door harps were inspired by Tonya's grandmother. As a child she would play with the harp on her grandmother's door for hours. Also, the Lockharts admire works from many area artisans and crafters. "There is something special in each thing they do. Being able to do what you love and never give up the dream. Go for it, but it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to make it happen," said Lockhart.

You can visit BBoops World at the Historic Paddock Arcade in Downtown Watertown, NY. The current store hours are Mon - Fri 10 till 6 and Sat 10 till 4. For directions you can call 315-782-4720 during shop hours.
