Linda nad Ken of Knits and Bits by Linda

Knits & Bits by Linda

Knits and Bits began as a hobby many years ago. In 1997 it became an official business when Linda Laubenthal, the owner, took a class called "Small Business" to really learn how to run the business properly. At the end of the class the business name of KNITS & BITS by LINDA was filed in Oneida County.

Laubenthal turned her love of needlework, knitting and crocheting, all learned as a young girl, from a part-time hobby to a full-time business when she built her first website in 1999 with the help of her eldest son, aKnitted Christmas Stocking computer engineer. The website has grown continually ever since. Laubenthal found her niche on the Internet with the sale of the ever-popular hanging kitchen hand towels and nylon pot scrubbies that can only be found at craft shows or on the Internet, not at traditional retail stores. She is also proud of the many orders for knitted Christmas stockings she receives and fulfills every holiday season. She has created many custom orders, using colors the shoppers desire for their stockings. Laubenthal has shipped her products to every state in the US, also to Canada and the UK.

Laubenthal lives in Utica with her husband, Ken. Together they have raised 3 children. She jokes that she had to wait her turn to decide what to do with her life: "I had to get the children raised and out on their own with their careers. With that goal accomplished, my time has come!"
