Bird's Eye Maple Harwood Rocking Chair

NY Rocking Chairs and Fine Furniture

New York Rocking Chairs was created in 2005 when Rich Watson moved to NY and began to grow the hobby into a business. Starting with the premium hand-crafted rocking chairs, the business soon evolved to encompass general wood craft and fine custom made furniture. NY Rocking Chairs works with several galleries, charities and has partnerships with other local artists and business to help develop and further its own expanding wood-working business.

Watson, the artisan and wood worker, behind these hand-crafted works of art has been learning to work with the wood since he was a young boy helping in his father to build furniture for the family. As his skills developed his appreciation for the wood and what could be done with it grew. As an artisan, Rich continues to increase his knowledge and experience by attending local and national conventions and collaborations, learning from such Masters as Sam Maloof, a wood artisan that has several accreditations recognized throughout the wood-working industry.

Working with some of the very best and unique hardwoods, NY Rocking Chairs strives to bring out the beauty that nature has provided. Bringing this beauty into one's home helps one to connect with nature and can offer a feeling of warmth and tranquility. The chair featured is made from Birdseye Maple is only one example of the very unique woods available.

NY Rocking Chairs continues to grow, learn and offer new and exciting products and services utilizing wood from all over the world. Each piece is a unique, hand-crafted item that is designed and built to endure through the generations.
